Mechanics that change a fight
Patch 1.2.0 / Balance 24. Facts below are tied to a source checked on 2026-10-01. Anything still open is marked unconfirmed.
Trigger versus a normal cast
A trigger makes its target cast immediately without resetting the target’s normal cooldown progress. Torrantler triggers adjacent Water allies except other Torrantler. Frizzly triggers itself at battle start. The normal timed cast can still follow a triggered cast.
On Cast resolves when that creature performs a cast, including each repeated cast in a Multicast sequence. Ongoing contributes while its source is active and recalculates as effects change; a knocked-out or ability-disabled source stops contributing. Disabling an Ongoing ability does not prevent the creature’s ordinary cast. Celestia disables Ongoing creatures in its row on both teams; Formiqueen buffs adjacent Common allies. These distinctions are from the linked community mechanics guides, checked 2026-10-01.
Evolution is not one button
Panbud evolves at level 3. Ignit evolves after a victory. Pipskull evolves after experiencing its third Knockout, changed from two in the official 1.1.0 notes; this does not mean defeating three enemies. These illustrate different evolution conditions: level, win, and its own knockout count.
What patch 1.2.0 touched
The 1.2.0 notes adjusted cooldown, damage, or shield on a long list that includes Petrirex, Opalion, Nekoffin, Vengrieve, Cairnage, Ninflora, Cawnushi, Shrinell, Shikitsune, Emburn, Bonshell, Steamscuttle, Cinnabark, Drumire, Thorntail, Noxnimbus, and Cinderfly. Vipair’s text gained the On Trinket Gained keyword. Twins’ copy now says it starts at a sell value of 0. Battle stats count triggers, not multicast copies.
Shop pools use set membership, not a loose availability tag. Of the 88-species catalog cited on that page, 70 sit in the normal set.

Questions on this page
If Cicadence triggers another Bug, does that Bug lose its charge?
No. The notes say only the Bug’s own normal cooldown completion resets it. A triggered cast can happen, and the normal cast can still follow.
What is the shiny rate?
A normal roll is 1 in 200. Lucky Girl raises that to 10 percent. Rainbow Pearl makes a shop unit of that species shiny if a shiny exists.
